HOUSEHOLD is an artist-driven exhibition space in which Krysten Cunningham invites her peers to present their work in the context of her sculpture studio. HOUSEHOLD is an economic platform centered on a philosophy of ethical labor, designed objects and co-operative activities. The gallery challenges traditional ways in which artists exhibit, distribute their work and recognize themselves. Each HOUSEHOLD exhibition is two-person in nature—with Cunningham as collaborator. In this way HOUSEHOLD re-distributes the idea of solo genius artist into the artist in context of their wider social group.
